Are Electric Trucks the Future?
Roger Nielsen, the CEO of Daimler Trucks North America, the largest truck
manufacturer on the continent seems to think so.
Roger said the company was aggressively planning for a future of totally
electric trucks and buses.
Roger’s remarks came two days after Kenworth and Toyota unveiled 10
trucks powered by hydrogen fuel cells (April 22).
Roger said, “I believe the road to emissions free driving will be driven by
battery electric vehicles. Not trucks run by natural gas or hydrogen fuel cells
or a hybrid of diesel and electric.”
Roger made his announcement at the annual Advanced Clean
Roger finished with, “We all need to work together (government, truck
industry leaders & business leaders) toward creating zero emissions fleets, it
must happen, it’s gonna happen.”
